Clinical Psychology for Professionals & Executives
When Success Does Not Mean Everything Is Working
Some psychological problems are easy for other people to see.
Others exist inside a life that looks highly successful.
A person can lead an organisation, build a career, care for other people and manage considerable responsibility while privately struggling with burnout, ADHD, anxiety, depression, relationship breakdown, loneliness or the sense that the way they have functioned for years is no longer sustainable.
I work with professionals who do not need motivational slogans.
They need somewhere to think clearly about a complicated problem.

High functioning can conceal high cost
Competence can become camouflage.
A person may continue performing while:
- sleep deteriorates,
- relationships suffer,
- work expands into every part of life,
- alcohol or other coping patterns increase,
- attention becomes increasingly fragmented,
- motivation becomes dependent on crisis,
- or emotional exhaustion gradually becomes normal.
Success does not make those problems less clinically significant.
It can simply delay recognition.
Psychological work may address
The work may involve:
- burnout,
- ADHD,
- anxiety,
- depression,
- trauma,
- major professional decisions,
- relationship problems,
- leadership strain,
- perfectionism,
- identity and transition,
- retirement,
- overwork,
- loss of meaning,
- or the interaction between personal psychology and professional demands.
A confidential place to think
Senior professionals often occupy roles in which there are few people with whom they can speak completely openly.
Employees are not peers.
Business partners have interests of their own.
Family members are affected by the decisions.
Professional advisers may address legal, commercial or financial questions without addressing the psychological ones.
Clinical Psychology provides a different kind of space.
The purpose is neither performance coaching nor simply emotional support.
It is careful psychological work around the person, the problem and the systems in which both exist.
Therapy or professional consultation?
Sometimes the issue is clearly clinical.
Sometimes it is primarily organisational.
Sometimes it is both.
We clarify the purpose before beginning.
Clinical treatment and professional organisational consultation are not simply interchangeable labels for the same service.
